You don’t have to wait until Tuesdays to make Tacos!
Tacos are our absolute favourite and we love how easy they are to whip up during the weekday; slice up some veggies, cook the minced meat and add the seasoning and you’re done dinner in less than 20mins. We like to make our own seasoning because we know exactly what’s going into it. The store bought taco packages contain a lot of unnecessary additives, way too much salt and could even contain MSG. No Thanks! Here’s a healthy recipe that we use time and time again. It’s not only good for tacos, but also for fajitas and really any Mexican dish. We like to make bigger batches of it to have on hand since we use it often. Store it in an airtight container and leave it in a cool dry place.
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 ½ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Combine all the ingredients together. (We use one recipe for a pound of store bought ground turkey.) Double or triple recipe and store it in an airtight container.
Tip: When adding the seasoning to the meat, add a half-cup of water to keep the meat moist.
