While we love traditional pizza toppings including everything from pepperoni to black olives, we thought it would be fun to step outside the box and try something a little different for this quick and easy naan pizza recipe. Using basil pesto as a substitute for regular pizza sauce, this homemade pizza is topped with blue cheese crumbles and portobello mushroom slices, making an irresistible combination! With only a few simple ingredients, this recipe is proof that great tasting food does not have to be complicated and that it may be time to ditch traditional pizza toppings for something new!

Ingredients (makes 1 pizza):

  • Naan bread
  • ¼ c. basil pesto spread
  • Portobello mushroom, sliced
  • ¼ c. blue cheese crumbles
  • ½ c. shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Assemble pizza by layering basil pesto, sliced mushrooms, blue cheese crumbles and mozzarella cheese atop naan bread.
  • Place the pizza directly on the center rack and cook until cheese is melted and edges of the crust are golden. (Approximately 4-6 minutes)
